In a resolution presented by George Foulkes (SOC, United Kingdom) and adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly on January 2020, PACE calls on members states of the Council of Europe to protect more effectively the safety of journalists and media freedom. The Assembly declares that the detention and criminal prosecution of Julien Assenge sets a dangerous precedent for journalists.
